April 1 - Men's Opener & April 2 - Women's Opener

The Men's and Women's openers are the start of golf season. We will have food and drink specials available. This is also the first chance that you can get signed up for events and we will have a putting contest. This is when the year begins.

President's Cup

The Presidents Cup is a yearlong two-person Match Play event. Teams are placed into flights based on combined handicap. Flights are split by 21 and under and 22 and over. Teams will be required to schedule their own matches. This event is open to all members.

April 8th - Masters Party

The Masters Party is a celebration of the "Super Bowl" of golf tournaments. Come on out early and get the season started on a good note. We will be celebrating all night and the festivities start around 6pm. We hope to see you here.

April 25th - Straight River Open

The Straight River Open is the opening member tournament of the year. It is a ONE PERSON SCRAMBLE which is a ton of fun and a confidence builder. It is a great chance to meet and play with new players and the format is very low pressure. The event will be held at 9:00 on April 25th and is open to both Men and Women. Please sign up in the golf shop. The cost includes Golf, Food and prizes.

May

May 6th -Super Skins

The Super Skins is a yearlong skins event. We take half of the pot to pay skins today and half goes to the year-end skins game. The top skin winners (gross & net) from each month will play for the super skins in September. Super Skins is held the first Wednesday of each month. Sign up in the golf shop.

May 22nd - Evening on the Range Demo Day Event

This Friday evening event will be many golf vendors at the Driving Range along with Food and Drink - all up at the Range.

May 25 - The Memorial Day Event

The Memorial Day Best Ball event is open to Men and Women to play. This year the event will be a 9am shotgun start for all who would like to play.

June

June 6th- One Day Member Guest

We have moved this event to a Saturday with a 1pm shotgun start time. The One Day Member Guest is a great way to bring friends or family out to the club to play. The format is 2 best balls of 4 and starts at 1:00. You can either bring 1 or 3 guests and you are welcome to pair up with whomever you would like. The cost is $60 per person and includes golf, cart, dinner and prizes. Be sure to sign up in the golf shop.

June 13th & 14th - The OCC Match Play Championship

Brand New Event! There will be a cap of 32 players in this two day event. Players will be divided into 8 pool play brackets based on handicap index. Matches will be in a round-robin format to determine the overall champion.

June 18th - Ladies 9 Hole Guest Day

This is a great chance to bring a friend or three out to the club to play in a fun and casual event. The 9- hole guest day is designed to be a fun night with a dinner after golf. We will have events and prizes for the night. The Guest Day will begin at 5:30 with a shotgun start. More details to come.

June 26th - Wine and Nine Event

Enjoy the popular NO Scoring format, just play and have fun. Enjoy Wine, Food and on-course prizes - all on the course.

June 28th - Founders Gala

The Founders Gala is a celebration of those who helped make OCC what it is today. If you are a founder, you will see information regarding the tournament soon.

July

July 4th - 4th of July Flag Day Event

The OCC Flag tournament may be the most unique at the club.). Here is how it works. Each player that tees off will receive a flag with their name on it. You will play until you hit 71 shots (par for the course) plus your handicap strokes and drop the flag, once you have reached your limit. The cost is $5 per player and you can make your own tee time. Call the golf shop to sign up.

July 9th, 10th and 11th. The Joseph R. Shea Invitational

This member, guest event is one of the "can't miss" event of the year. If you would like to play, let the Pro know asap and he will put you on the list.

July 16th: Ladies Invitational

The Ladies Invitational is a four-person best ball tournament, attracting players from all over the state. We have strong participation from OCC as well. This is a great chance to invite some friends to play and have a great day of golf, lunch and prizes. This tournament fills very fast so be sure to sign up right away. Call the golf shop for more details.

July 24th - The OCC Putting Championship

Compete on a 9 hole putting course on the main putting green. Try to survive a series of cuts to make it to the finals and become the first ever Owatonna Country Club Putting Champion.

July 24th & 25th - The Men's Club Championship

Now in a weekend all of it's own - The Men's Club Championship. This flighted event is great for golfers of all skill levels to compete.

August

August 6th & 7th -Jim Birdsall Junior City Open

The Junior City Open is held August 6th at Brooktree and August 7th at OCC. This is the junior championship for the city so if your junior is competitive at all this is the tournament they should play in. There is a 9 and 18-hole division based on age. Flights will also be determined by age. Call the golf shop for more details.

August 8th & 9th - The Owatonna City Open

The City Open is open to adults ages 18 and older who live or work in Steele County. The dates are August 8th and 9th. It is open to players of all skill levels and is flighted by handicap. This is a championship and makes no difference what you shoot, you will be playing with players in your own skill level. Depending on your flight, you will play each course on different days. Typically we get around 100 players from the area and would like to increase the size of the field for this year. Call the golf shop for more details

August 13th - Ladies 9 Hole Guest Day

August 15th & 16th - Women's, Senior and Junior Club Championships

A weekend for the Women's, Senior and Junior Club Championships - These are all flighted events great for golfers of all skill levels to compete.

September

September 3rd - Women's Closer Event

Enjoy a season ending finale event with a fun format and a fantastic dinner.

September 7th - Labor Day Classic

The Labor Day classic is a two-person team event. It is a 6-6-6 event which was a hit last year! 6 holes best ball, 6 holes scramble and 6 holes alternate shot. It will be held on Labor Day, this event will be a 9am shotgun start. This is a great way to end the year and play in a fun event.

September 12th and 13th - Ryder Cup

The OCC Ryder Cup, one of the best events of the year. All members are encouraged to sign up. We will divide teams before the event on Friday. If you have never played in a Ryder Cup type event, they are the most fun you will have all year.

September 18th - The Couples Golf Big Cup Event

Enjoy putting to 8 inch cups and find out how easy putting can be.

September 20th - OCC Cup Points Shootout

After all the OCC point events are complete we will take the top 10 point-getters, plus ties to play in a 9-hole shootout starting at 9:00am.

September 30th - The OCC Crunch

The OCC Crunch - A True Test. Play the toughest course that Owatonna Country Club can offer. Long holes and tough pins make the OCC Crunch a true test of your skills.

October

October 6th - The Octoberfest Smoker 9 Event

Similar to the Wine and 9 Events, this will offer Beer and Cigars out on the golf course.

October 11th - The Polar Bear Scramble

Three person scramble open to members and non-members. 9:00am Shotgun. Teams are divided up into divisions so no matter the skill level, it is open to everyone. This is a great chance to bring friends out for one last tournament of the season.

October 24th - The OCCCCCCCCC
