Hole # 2 - Nikk Dickerson - Golf Course Superintendent
Among the newest holes at OCC, #2, is the number 1 handicapped hole on the golf course and has a completely different feel than the 1st. From the tee it looks/feels like you have all the room in the world to miss hit because the fairway is twice that of the hole #1, but the OB on the right and the near cliff-like native area running the left hand side will change your mind the first time you choose to tango with either. Choosing the correct club off the tee is essential, especially if the wind is blowing out of the North. Having a downhill lie on your second shot is not ideal and it makes hitting your second shot as daunting of a shot as you'll find here at OCC whether you're in the middle of the landing area or in the rough on either side. One has to be thinking about the mature Cottonwood trees on both sides, the pond that is short right or the native grass that horseshoes roughly 15 yards behind the green. Oh, and did I mention you have about a 50-foot elevation drop from the 150 yard marker to the green. Just remember this is the considered the hardest hole on the course for a reason. Enjoy!
