Hole # 5 - John Thompson - Current Member
Hole #5 plays longer than the scorecard indicates as it runs uphill all the way. The ideal tee shot will flirt with the tree line on the left to take advantage of the left-to-right slope of the fairway. Long hitters can get past the trees on the right side of the fairway, but the left side is more or less jail all the way to the green. Be sure to take enough club to reach the middle to back of the green on your second shot as anything left short will leave a very difficult up-and-down, particularly from the right side of the approach where the green falls off precipitously. Pins in the front right corner will present a very difficult two-putt while pins in the back are generally easier to hole.
